How to Implement ScinSpell...

Whether you wish to just add it to your ScintillaNet-based editor and put it to work, or if you wish to code your own features, you'll need to add the following to the application that calls ScinSpell:
  • Add a reference to the "ScinSpell.dll" to your program. Be sure ScinSpell.dll and ScintillaNet.dll are in the same directory.
  • In the event handler that launches the spell check, add the following code:
      Try
Dim spChk As New ScinSpell.SpellCheckerForm(sci) 'Replace the parameter "sci" with the name of the ScintillaNet control you wish to spell check
      Catch ex As Exception
        MsgBox(ex.ToString, MsgBoxStyle.Exclamation, "Error")
      End Try
  • That's it. ScinSpell is ready to roll.
  • Download ScinSpell_Docs.pdf so you'll have the info you need regarding the source code and how ScinSpell works. It includes sample code, dictionary structure, etc.
